Achilles ~ Personal Skills
Class Skills
Riding: A+
Riding (騎乗, Kijō, localized as "Dragoon") is a Class Skill of Rider-class and Saber-class Servants. It denotes the Servant’s ability to use as mounts and ride any vehicle and all creatures up to the level of Phantasmal Beast and Divine Beast. However, it is said that dragon type mounts are an exception, requiring a different ability other than Riding. Rider-class Servants will typically possess a high rank in this Skill. With an A+ in rank for his Riding, Achilles’ prowess in handling various mounts is exceptional. When in battle, he favors riding chariots and mounting horses, plowing through the battlefield and crushing all obstacles in his way.
Magic Resistance: C
Magic Resistance (対魔力, Tai Maryoku, localized as "Anti-Magic") grants the Servant protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether. C-ranked Servants are able to automatically cancel all spells requiring a chant of two verses or below. However, they cannot instinctively defend against Magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals by this rank of Skill alone. With a C in rank for his Magic Resistance, Achilles is able to ignore the effects of any magic spells ranking 2v or lower.
Personal Skills
Battle Continuation: A
Battle Continuation (戦闘続行, Sentō Zokkō, localized as "Marshall") is a Skill that allows for the continuation of combat after sustaining mortal wounds. It also reduces the mortality rate from injuries. This Skill represents the ability to survive and/or the mentality of one who doesn't know when to give up, consisting of one's strength of vitality in predicaments. The best result is achieved when a resilient body is combined with this Skill. With an A in rank for his Battle Continuation, Achilles doesn’t know when to give up in battle. Even after being struck in his weak points—his heart or his heel—he can continue fighting for a while.
Bravery: A+
Bravery (勇猛, Yūmō, localized as "Fortitude") is the ability to nullify mental interference such as coercion, confusion, fascination, glamours, and pressure. It also has the bonus effect of increasing damage in hand-to-hand combat. Not usable under the effects of Mad Enhancement. With an A+ in rank for his Bravery, Achilles is all but impossible to distract from his current focus. Attempts to coerce or confuse him fail in the face of his fortitude and neither threats nor pressure can sway his intentions.
Affections of the Goddess: B
Affection of the Goddess (女神の寵愛, Megami no Chōai, localized as "Grace of the Goddess") is a Skill that denotes one being loved by a goddess. Affection is from his mother, the sea goddess Thetis, grants Achilles a rank of B in this skill. Other than Mana and Luck, all his stats are Rank-Up when he is summoned. As the Skill is born from another’s love, it can neither be removed nor canceled from him.
Divinity: C
Divinity (神性, Shinsei) is the measure of whether one has Divine Spirit aptitude or not. At high levels, one is treated as a mixed race of a Divine Spirit, and the level declines when the Heroic Spirit's own rank as a Monster or Demonic Beast raises. It can also decrease due to one's dislike for the gods. Those who have A Rank Divinity or above have reached the Throne of Gods. It also has an effect which reduces special defensive values called "purge defense" in proportion to the Divinity's Rank. It can break through Skills such as Protection of the Faith and Enlightenment of the Sacred Fig. Achilles is the child of the Sea Goddess, Thetis, and the human hero, Peleus, thus granting him a rank of C in this skill.
Noble Phantasms
Troias Tragōidia (Troy's Tragedy): Tempestuous Immortal Chariot (トロイアス・トラゴーイディア: 疾風怒濤の不死戦車, Toroiasu Toragōidia: Shippūdotō no Fushi Sensha)
Type: Anti-Army | Rank: A | Range: 2~60 | Targets: 50 people [max]
Troias Tragōidia is Achilles' three-horsed chariot that is able to move through the sky. Summoned by whistling with two fingers in his mouth, it appears from the sky, controlled by reigns on the driver's stand. It is drawn by three strong-muscled horses, two immortal divine horses bestowed by the Greek sea god Poseidon to Achilles' father, Peleus, as a wedding gift, Xanthos (クサントス, Kusantosu) and Balius (バリオス, Bariosu), and lesser than the other two, a "fine and famous" great horse pillaged from a city, Pedasos (ペーダソス, Pēdasosu). Xanthos and Balius serves as the chariot's central pivot while Pedasos has a more supportive role. As divine horses received from Poseidon, Xanthus and Balius were clearly stated to have both been immortal in the original texts. After being summoned as a Servant’s Noble Phantasm, they aren’t quite immortal, but at the very least, they can be considered as tough as Servants themselves. It boasts extraordinary power, firmly charging and "riding like lightning", which is very difficult to stop. Using it, Achilles tramples throughout the battlefield with godspeed, easily trampling one-ton golems and scraping up the ground simply from riding it, increasing in damage dealt proportional to its increase in speed. It can be likened to a "giant galloping lawnmower" at its highest speed. However, it is harsh in mana consumption, where in its worst case scenario, it is estimated that it can consume enough mana to summon another Servant besides Achilles.
Dromeus Komētēs (Runner Comet): Comet Form (ドロメウス・コメーテース: 彗星走法, Doromeusu Komētēsu: Suisei Sōhō)
Type: Anti-Unit (Self) | Rank: A+ | Range: 0 | Targets: 1 [max]
Dromeus Komētēs is an ability of Achilles, a Continuously Active-Type Noble Phantasm, that is normally triggered by stepping out of his chariot, Troias Tragōidia. It is the embodiment of Achilles' legend that he is the fastest among all the heroes of all eras. It allows him to run through a giant battlefield in a single breath, and obstacles on the field will not slow him down even as he charges through a dense forest. Although Achilles' physical prowess is high, it is not an impossible standard for a Servant, but his speed greatly stands out. That speed is equated to instantaneous movement, and for everything that enters into his field of vision, the distance between Achilles and his target can be closed instantly. Its usage requires him to expose his weak-point, the Achilles Heel, but there aren’t many Heroic Spirits that can keep up with his speed. In the case where his heel should be pierced and injured, Achilles' speed would decrease by approximately 70%.
The embodiment of the legend of being the fastest among all heroes of every era.
Dashing through a vast battlefield in the blink of an eye, even if there are obstacles on the field, his speed won't falter.
Although he must expose his weak point, his Achilles heel, there are few Heroic Spirits who could catch up with his speed.
Andreias Amarantos (Heroism's Eternal Man): Amaranth of the Brave (アンドレアス・アマラントス: 勇者の不凋花, Andoreasu Amarantosu: Yūsha no Fuchōka)
Type: Anti-Unit (Self) | Rank: B | Range: 0 | Targets: 1 person [max]
Andreias Amarantos is the Noble Phantasm maintaining Achilles' gift of immortality from having been blessed and exalted by the Olympian Gods. It grants his entire body, excluding his heel, the blessing of immortality and protects him from all ill will and killing intent. Although his mother, the goddess Thetis, wanted to make him into a fully immortal god by warming him within holy flames to extinguish his human blood (or alternatively dipping him into the River Styx), her husband, the hero Peleus, opposed it because it would "destroy him as a human", so only one part of him, his heel, remained human after the process was stopped. His heel is the sole, vital weak-point for the otherwise invincible hero, but he is not afraid to attack opponents with it should it be required. Any type of attack against him is nullified, including physical damage, the "normal attacks" of Servants, and even A+ ranked Noble Phantasms. It cannot be pierced by power alone and thus kept him from receiving any wounds in life until his weak point was exposed during his fight with Hector. Powerful as it is, Achilles’ immortality does have three weakness. The first is that those who possess the blood of a god within their veins are permitted to harm him. It can only be fully negated by those with possessing the Divinity Skill equaling or surpassing Rider's C-rank Divinity. Those in possession of Divine Constructs can also deal damage to him so long as the Divine Construct is being used to attack; with the damage being based upon the weapon's rank in the same way as Divinity. The second is that his invincibility does not apply to acts that display friendship. For example, the act of being bitten by a vampire is an act meant to make him into a comrade rather than kill him, so his body will respond by making part of himself weak in response to that request. The third is that damaging his heel will negate this blessing, causing him to lose his immortality and be vulnerable to injury, as well as Dromeus Komētēs being severely weakened.
It's said that Achilles, born to the goddess Thetis and the hero Peleus, had his fate decided at a very young age. Worried about his son, Thetis, for the sake of having him join the ranks of the immortal gods, roasted his whole body in sacred flames so his impure mortal blood would evaporate (according to another theory, he was soaked in the waters of the River Styx). However, such an act was akin to destroying Achilles as a human being so his Father, Peleus, strongly opposed making him a complete immortal.
Diatrekhōn Astēr Lonkhē (Meteor Spear): Spear-tip of the Star Traversing the Skies (ディアトレコーン・アステール・ロンケーイ: 宙駆ける星の穂先, Diatorekōn Asutēru Ronkēi: Chū Kakeru Hoshi no Hosaki)
Type: Anti-Unit | Rank: B+ | Range: 2~10 | Targets: 1 person [max]
Diatrekhōn Astēr Lonkhē is Achilles's Hero-killing spear (英雄殺しの槍, Eiyū-goroshi no yari), given to him by his father Peleus, and previously given to Peleus as a wedding gift by Chiron. It is a long, simple spear with sturdy workmanship, bearing a teal tip and rings upon its handle and a dark shaft. Despite being a spear, it is well designed for close combat, piercing the chests of heroes and stabbing through limb joints. He holds it lightly in one hand as a means of being able to use it for its original purpose as a throwing weapon at a moment’s notice. Having been able to pierce through all other heroes, he feels it is superior to any other weapon in the aspect of its thrust, allowing it to pierce hearts and penetrate skulls with every strike he makes. Because he has not been summoned as a Lancer, one part of the spear's ability has been lost: a curse of mortality in which wounds inflicted by this spear cannot be healed as long as it exists. Also, because he killed the Amazon Queen with this spear, he cannot invoke its True Name against female opponents due to an awful amount of regret. During his life, Achilles developed an ability with the spear that uses magecraft to create a Duel Field (決闘場, Kettō-ba), a fair and even battleground between two opponents for a one on one match, where no gods, outside help, or elements of luck can intervene. It creates an arena cut off from all surrounding environment and isn’t released until one of the combatants is defeated. It is a separate dimension outside of time that is comparable to a Reality Marble in construction, so when the duel within concludes, it will have lasted only a second from an outside perspective. The dueling rules must be agreed upon by both parties, so it is useless against someone refusing to duel. Combatants within are permitted to use martial arts and/or weapons, which is normally decided upon before the battle commences. Achilles must descend his chariot to make this Noble Phantasm function usable. Finally, due to the nature of this Noble Phantasm and the curse by the Amazonian Queen, it can neither be used on someone weaker than himself or on a female.
Endowed with High-Thaumaturgy capable of constructing an arena comparable to a Reality Marble where fellow heroes can duke it out one-on-one, but only if the opponent has agreed to it.
As a result of not being summoned as a Lancer, the curse of denied healing is lost.
Akhilleus Kosmos: The Miniature World Enclosed by the Azure Sky (アキレウス・コスモス: 蒼天囲みし小世界, Akireusu Kosumosu: Sōten Kakomishi Shō Sekai)
Type: Barrier | Rank: A+ | Range: 0 | Targets: 1 person [max]
Akhilleus Kosmos is the shield of Achilles, a Divine Construct forged by the Greek blacksmith god Hephaestus. It is a defensive type, Bounded Field Noble Phantasm comparable to Rho Aias, said to be able to stand against nearly any attack by deploying a miniature world. This world is the world Achilles saw with his own eyes and lived in, reproduced by Hephaestus into a miniature form in the shield, featuring swirling ocean currents on the outer circumference due to the sea god. It is said that "to oppose this shield is the same as making the world your opponent", allowing it to protect against nearly any attack, whether it be from Anti-Unit, Anti-Army, Anti-Divine, Anti-Fortress and Anti-Country Noble Phantasms. However, due to this Noble Phantasm’s nature, it is weak against Anti-World Noble Phantasms alone. Though beyond its creator’s intentions, the shield can be used to attack, with Achilles aiming to crush the opponent with the miniature world by continuously pushing forward after its deployment. It is a Noble Phantasm that does not require great skill or power to activate, so it can be borrowed from Achilles with his permission, but the borrower cannot use Achilles' method of attack with the shield.
